About me
Hello, I'm Iago Riveiro Santos Dutra. 🙂
I'm a Data Science and Artificial Intelligence student at the Getulio Vargas Foundation's School of Applied Mathematics (FGV EMAp), where I hold a full merit scholarship. As part of my academic journey, I’ve completed graduate-level courses in applied mathematics and statistics, and I'm currently writing my thesis on drug embeddings using deep learning.
I’m developing research projects at the Paccanaro Lab, focusing on machine learning applications in biomedical contexts. Recently, I completed a two-month academic exchange at Sorbonne Université in Paris, where I deepened my interest in multicultural and intellectually stimulating environments.
Professionally, I’ve worked for two years at AtlasIntel, specializing in data mining, process automation, and predictive modeling. I contributed to successful electoral forecasting in Brazil and the US, experiences that have strengthened both my technical and collaborative skills.
My academic path began as a Chemical Technician at the Sul-rio-grandense Federal Institute (IFSul), where I conducted research on biomass pyrolysis and GC-MS optimization at the Laboratory of Environmental Contaminants Analysis (LACA).
My main interests include drug discovery, causal machine learning, Bayesian modeling, and MLOps. I’m passionate about deploying machine learning models into production and have experience with Python, R, C++, Julia, and tools such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Azure.

Outside of work and study, I’m an avid gym-goer, love playing video games, and enjoy reading silly romantic novels. I value balance, curiosity, and continuous personal growth. I believe in using data science to tackle real-world challenges—especially in environmental science and biochemistry—and I’m always eager for opportunities that blend technology, research, and positive impact.
